The Internal Medicine department at the Rudolfinerhaus deals with diseases of the respiratory organs, the heart and circulation system, the digestive tract, kidneys, blood and blood forming organs, the vascular system, metabolism, immune system supporting and connecting tissues. Additionally, internal medicine also treats infectious diseases, poisoning and tumours.

With increasing lifespans we also see increases in vascular diseases, especially in the brain and extremities. The Department for Angiology in the Rudolfinerhaus deals with the diagnosis and treatment of exactly these vascular diseases. Non-invasive and interventional cardiology at the Rudolfinerhaus has at its disposal a broad range of options for non-invasive cardiological examination including Echocardiography, 24‐hour‐EKG, 24‐hour‐bliid pressure monitoring, thoracic and transoesophageal echocardiography, pacemaker-control, orthostasis‐EKG (Schellong‐test) and much more. Interventional cardiology also plays an important role in our cardiological arsenal.
We schedule conventional exploratory heart catheterisations as well as new, modern techniques and procedures. The Rudolfinerhaus has specialized in radialis angiography in which the patient is examined from the arm via the arteria radialis. We can also implant heart pacemakers and defibrillators with the most modern technology.
