Academic studies & training: 2 in 1 model health care
Since the winter semester 2008 it is possible to acquire the job qualification in order to work as registered nurse (R.N., Austrian degree: DGKS) as well as reach the Bachelor degree of health care science studies (Bachelor Studium der Pflegewissenschaft).
This is possible due to the “2-in-1-model health care”, which is offered by our school in cooperation with the Paracelsus Medical Private University of Salzburg.
The school of nursing at the Rudolfinerhaus
The health care school at the Rudolfinerhaus is privately operated by its sponsor, the Rudolfiner Society – Red Cross.
Nevertheless, this private school has public status and educates according to the Austrian Health and Nursing Act of 1997.
Paracelsus Medical Private University of Salzburg
The privately sponsored Paracelsus Medical Private University of Salzburg follows the highest educational standards. The educational duty is seen in both teaching and research in the core sector human medicine and additional subjects in the field of health care sciences.
Availability of traineeships
The availability of traineeships at our private health care and nursing school is limited to no more than 20 per year in order to enable individual learning and a private atmosphere.
The goal of our education
The intent and goal of our educational programmes is enhancing the competence, which safeguards the provision of responsible and scientifically based care to people in health an illness by the next generation of health care personnel in- as well as outside of hospitals.
Quality of the educational programmes
Quality standards developed especially for the theoretical and on-the-job education of our school are contributing to safeguarding quality and improvement. The implementation of a quality management system according to ISO 9001:2000 is highly conducive to the organization of working processes at the school.
Graduation
The educational programmes end after seven semesters.
The following degrees can be reached in this time:
1. the general diploma of the Rudolfinerhaus School for Health Care and Nursing
2. the first academic degree at the studies of health care science of the Paracelsus Medical Private University of Salzburg
The graduates acquire the job qualification in order to work as registered nurse (R.N., Austrian degree: DGKS/DGKP) as well as the academic degree Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN).
